In RE, we follow the Gloucestershire Syllabus for Religious Education, and use the Understanding Christianity resource as part of our learning. As we have mixed age classes, we have split our learning across a two-yearly cycle for each Class.
As a Church of England school, we make sure that our children have 1 hour of RE each week. The Gloucestershire Syllabus for Religious Education is used to teach the children about both Christianity and a wide range of religions - including Judaism, Hinduism and Islam. The children are given the opportunity to explore these religions through visits where appropriate and using books and resources to gain a deeper understanding of different cultures and traditions. The children are given the chance to compare different religious beliefs and encouraged to do so in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
