Welcome to RPA Pre-School

We are excited to be able to offer a  Pre-school facility at our school.   3 year olds, from the term after their third birthday, are able to join us and become part of our Class 1 together with our reception children. The classroom has dedicated zones to enable the children to learn about the world around them, in fun and exciting ways.  We are very lucky to have a lovely covered outdoor area with a stage and sandpit as well as other areas for the children to explore in all weathers. We also have our own garden area where we have a mud kitchen, lots of loose parts, digging areas, water play, and a climbing frame. The children can run, play and explore to their hearts content in our safe and exciting areas.

We feel that attending our pre school setting will give your child a seamless entry into reception as they will be familiar with  the routines and systems in place.   Play forms the basis of the curriculum with some small group work providing them with a firm foundation for the next stage of their education. The children are able to build great relationships with our staff that and this encourages them to be confident and independent by the time they start their reception year.  We have a heavy emphasis on the 3 prime areas of development. Personal, social and emotional, physical, and creative development is supported largely and foundations for learning are supported through the development of communication skills, language and literacy. The children are able to access resources that are continually available but also have other resources to support progression through their skills.

Children do not need to be fully toilet trained at this point, however it would be good if they are not in nappies as we have limited facilities to change them.  Pull ups would be a better option if possible.

We are registered to take the pre school vouchers for up to 15/30 hours but this is subject to you arranging this through HMRC at the defined times.    Any additional hours will be £6.00 an hour and will be invoiced at the end of the month.

Children can bring in sandwiches for their lunch or they can have hot school dinners at a cost of £2.35 per meal.  Again this will be invoiced at the end of the month.

Should you need to talk to our Early Years Lead, Miss Phillips or myself, about our provision or any additional needs your child may have  please do not hesitate to contact us at the above to make an appointment.

Further information can be found in our Pre school handbook.  We are so pleased to have pre-school as part of our school and proud to give pupils a fantastic start to their school journey. Please also see our Class 1 page for more information about our learning.
